SUMMARY OF POSITION


Amirah, Inc. exists to provide aftercare, resources, and opportunities to women who have survived different forms of sexual exploitation, sex trafficking, and prostitution. The Residential Program of Amirah in Connecticut is a supportive transitional home that is intended for women who have exited the commercial sex trade and are seeking continued support while they strive towards independence. The Program Coordinator is a key member of the Residential Program team in Connecticut.

Reporting to the Director of Programs and working directly with the program staff, the Program Coordinator works within a team dynamic to provide trauma-informed support for survivors of sexual exploitation who are living in their own suite-apartments in the safe home in the Greater Hartford area of Connecticut. The Program Coordinator helps to maintain schedule coordination for the home and all program participants, developing and maintaining effective office systems for all program efforts, and offering support in empowering each program participant in building life skills.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide management and oversight to the weekly home schedule for the entire house as well as each individual program participant

  • Communicate effectively with program staff, interns, and volunteers on the needs of the program participants each week regarding their schedule

  • Schedule and coordinate volunteer opportunities in the home

  • Maintain and update volunteer database with relevant volunteer information as needed

  • Maintain effective office systems for the program, providing administrative support for the CT home team

  • Collaborative effort with Home Manager and Case Managers on helping program participants develop particular life skills and effectively communicate the goals and efforts met by each program participant in these areas to the program staff

  • Follow all reporting protocols for individual meetings

  • Be a part of training for new staff and interns

  • Tend to the needs of the program participants should you be the sole program staff member in the home

  • Be a part of the on-call rotation
     

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Follower of Christ, committed to His church and message of the transformative love of Jesus that was displayed on the cross

  • Lived experience welcome

  • Strong understanding and management of complex scheduling

  • Strong administrative, detail, and organizational skills

  • Strong ability to problem solve

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high intensity environment

  • Ability to work in an independent environment showing strong initiative

  • High level of collaboration as a part of a team-unit

  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills

  • Strong computer and software skills

  • Driver’s license and vehicle

  • Non-profit and/or office environment experience preferred

 

TIME COMMITMENT


20 hours a week along with being a part of the monthly on-call rotation.

 

BENEFITS
Amirah provides the following benefits for this position:

  • Every four months a full-week of vacation taken within that four month period (three weeks total given each year). Amirah operates on a work-rest rhythm for all staff members.

  • Every quarter, one personal spiritual retreat day is given. This is one day given to take as seen fit to connect with God, to rest, and to restore for this work.

  • Accumulated sick-time is given up to forty (40) hours a year.

  • Paid holidays on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day

 

COVID POLICIES

At this time, we are asking that all staff are vaccinated, unless there is a proven medical reason. We are also following masking guidelines for each county and city that we operate in. These two things are non-negotiable.
