SUMMARY OF POSITION
Reporting to the Clinical Supervision Director, the Program Intern will help to maintain our safe home and be a positive presence in the lives of our residents. They will assist the program staff with any administrative needs, gleaning and learning about Amirah’s whole-person care approach during their time as an intern.
Assist with any administrative needs for the program staff
Assist with program responsibilities for the program participants (includes making phone calls, learning about case management, learning about data tracking)
Help to build and maintain our systems through filing paperwork, keeping track of receipts, data entry and formalizing documentation
Be a presence in the home that the women can turn to while staff is not there should something come up, this means that you will be asked to serve Direct Care shifts during your internship to gain direct exposure and working directly with program participants
Meet with the Clinical Supervision Director on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on your program requirements
Organized and skilled with ability to focus on details
Have a drivers license and car (preferred)
Friendly and willing to love unconditionally
Valid driver's license
Working with our program staff, the Program Intern will fill at least 16 hours of time each week between working directly with the program staff and filling in as a Direct Care volunteer for at least one shift a week. Vacations or time away should be worked out with the Clinical Supervision Director ahead of time.
Because of the nature of this internship and the extensive training it takes to work within the program and with this population, we only accept applicants for this position that can do at least a 6-month internship with us.
This is not a paid internship with Amirah.
