SUMMARY OF POSITION
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working directly with the program staff in our Greater Hartford safe home, the Support Services Facilitator will help to create a safe environment for the program participants in recovery while offering support to the overall residential program.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Consistently be a positive presence in the safe home during your shift and available to provide for any of the program needs during your time in the home.

  • Tend to the needs of the program participants should you be the sole program staff member in the home.

  • Support data tracking for program.

  • Regularly support program staff with ongoing projects each quarter.

  • Be on call in a rotation each month, one weekend a month.

  • Contribute to Amirah’s educational and advocacy efforts as needed in your area of expertise (this could include blog writing, public speaking events, social media videos, etc.).

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Follower of Christ, committed to His church and message of the transformative love of Jesus that was displayed on the cross

  • Lived-experience welcomed to apply

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills

  • Strong ability to problem-solve

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a high intensity environment

  • Ability to work in an independent environment as a part of a team-unit

  • High level of collaboration 

  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills

  • Strong computer and software skills

  • Driver’s license and vehicle

  • Non-profit and/or office environment experience preferred

 

TIME COMMITMENT

8-15 hours a week serving consistently each week in 2-3 of the following shifts:

 

Mondays 4pm to 9pm; Fridays 4pm to 9pm

Saturdays 12pm to 4pm; Saturdays 4pm to 9pm

Sundays 8am to 12pm

 

Additionally, we ask that this position serve in the on-call rotation for one weekend a month, filling in any vacant shift openings and answering any emergency calls (this is scheduled well in advance). 

 

COVID POLICIES
At this time, we are asking that all Support Services Facilitators are vaccinated, unless there is a proven medical reason. We are also masking up when physical distance is not possible. These two things are non-negotiables.

 

TRAINING

Extensive training is provided for the following (not limited to these):

  • All in-home operations, protocols, and procedures 

  • How to provide trauma-informed care

  • Common mental health disorders as well as substance abuse recovery

  • Proper reporting procedures

  • How to work an on-call shift

BENEFITS

Amirah provides the following benefits for this position:

  • Every six months a full-week of vacation taken within that six month period (two weeks total given each year). Amirah operates on a work-rest rhythm for all staff members.

  • Every quarter, one personal spiritual retreat day is given. This is one day given to take as seen fit to connect with God, to rest, and to restore for this work.

  • Accumulated sick-time is given up to forty (40) hours a year.

  • Paid holidays on New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
