Associate Director of Development, Faith & Justice Initiatives
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Reporting to, and in partnership with, the Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development will support the advancement efforts of Amirah, overseeing annual giving fundraising campaigns, managing Amirah’s faith-based partnership program, working with a small portfolio of individual donors, and taking a leading role in the implementation of Amirah’s development strategy.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Work in collaboration with the Director of Development, the Executive Director, and the development team to develop and implement the annual fundraising plan for the organization.

Supervise one support staff member.

Execute engagement plan for church and faith communities as it pertains to the overall development strategy of Amirah.

Secure full partnership with new churches annually.

Implement partnership plan with communication and stewardship.

In conjunction with speaking staff, engage within church communities for speaking engagements, etc.

Manage a small portfolio of leadership and major gift individual donors as assigned.

Cultivate new relationships with donor prospects.

In collaboration with the development team, support the creation and implementation of a robust communications plan supporting Amirah’s advancement and advocacy efforts.

Lead the strategy and implementation for annual giving campaigns, including Move for Amirah, Amirah’s annual summer fundraising campaign, and Giving Tuesday.

Collaborate with the Director of Development in managing Amirah’s annual benefit concert.

Collaborate with the development team and program staff to advance volunteer engagement and support of Amirah’s advocacy initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree required
-
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of similar type of experience required.

Marketing, public relations, and/or fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures, preferably in a nonprofit environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

Passionate about Amirah’s work; able to communicate and promote the philosophy, mission, and value of the organization both internally and externally.

Must be a professing Christian who is committed to support and promote the Christian foundation of the organization and agree to Amirah’s Statement of Faith.

Possess a warm and nurturing spirit and humble in approach to relationships and teachable.

Creative problem solver, who can handle conflict in a mature, intentional, thoughtful way while actively pursuing reconciliation.

Work well in a multi-faceted, creatively chaotic environment.

Work well as a self-starter, but also collaborate as a vital part of the team atmosphere of Amirah.
